Silverboots Line Dancing classes in Norwich, Norfolk

What to expect as new Line Dancer

Start with our beginners class as this will introduce you to the basic steps, build your confidence and give you a feel for the dances. By the end of the first class you should be be able to do at least one dance if not two!!

It will be a few weeks before you begin to feel comfortable and find yourself remembering both the steps and the dances from the previous weeks, don't worry this is normal and you wont be the only one...

Each week we will review past dances with a complete walk through and learn at least one new dance that is completely new to everyone.

A few things to bear in mind:-

  • Don't expect to master dances straight off, A s with most new things, you need to master the basics before moving on.  If you find yourself struggling on a dance try sitting it out a dance and watch it instead, its surprising how much you can learn.
  • Never be put off by more experienced dancers, We all had to learn at sometime! It's your class and your time and they all know that.
  • Come back the next week, It gets easier as the weeks go by, before you know it you'll be dancing with the best of them.
  • Be ready to laugh at yourself, D on't be worried if it's not coming together as fast as you'd like, it will eventually. We have all faced the wrong way, lost track and wondered what to do next, just watch us i our intermediate class and you will see it for yourself.
  • Bring a drink, Line Dancing is a great form of exercise, you can burn up to 800 calories during a class and you'll get warm and need a drink! alcohol is not receommended, you'll forget the steps...
  • Most importantly, ENJOY Yourself

It can be a little confusing when you first start Line Dancing because you will hear the instuctor say Grapevine to the right and you'll be thinking what is a Grapevine???  Good instructors will repeatedly break these steps into single instructions so that after a few weeks when you hear "Grapevine" you'll find yourself doing it without thinking about it.
